The island nation will end up as yet another state of India soon if the present situation continues, former President Mahinda Rajapaksa says.
The observation was made while responding to the media personnel after arriving at the Presidential Commission of Inquiry on Thursday morning (18).
He also severely condemned the decision to sign an economic and technology co-operation pact with India.
“All the development projects have come to an abrupt end after the new Government came to power,” Rajapaksa charged.
The former President also went on to say the Government should not try to suppress media freedom. “No blames for the TV channels that back them,” he added.
While referring to the recent move to remove unauthorised constructions in Thotalanga, Rajapaksa said that a Government under his rule would not make people homeless in its effort to develop the country.
