Sangakkara appointed Sri Lanka selector in major revamp

Dayasiri Jayasekara Minister of Sports has appointed a new National Cricket Selection Committee with immediate effect.

The appointment of the National Selection Committee was carried out by the Minister citing recent failures encountered by the National Team in their Tours to New Zealand, India, Asia Cup in Bangladesh and the inconsistency of selection criteria. The members of the newly appointed National Selection Committee are as follows.

1.     Mr. Aravinda De Silva – Chairman

2.     Mr. Kumar Sangakkara – Member

3.     Mr. Romesh Kaluwitharana -Member

4.     Mr. Lalith Kaluperuma -Member

5.     Mr. Ranjith Madurasinghe – Member
