Don’t be misled by false propaganda – Mahinda

March 17, 2016   03:14 pm

Former President Mahinda Rajapaksa urged supporters not to be misled by “false propaganda” and that he will participate in the public rally being organized by the Joint Opposition in Colombo today.

Rumours of the ex-President deciding not to join the event were rife in social media with certain posts claiming he had suddenly fallen ill.

However, the Kurunegala District UPFA MP took to Twitter to dispel the rumours and set the record straight.

“Don’t be misled by false propaganda. Former President Rajapaksa will attend Joint Opposition Rally, March 17, at Hyde Park in Colombo,” he wrote on his official Twitter account.

Meanwhile UPFA MP Dullas Alahapperuma stated that all preparation have been completed at the Hyde Park Grounds to host the rally and accused the government of taking various measures to obstruct the event.
