Army deserter arrested after 3 persons stabbed in Meetiyagoda

An army deserter has been arrested in connection with the stabbing and injuring of three persons including a woman in the Meetiyagoda area in Galle.
The suspect was arrested after he had surrendered to Meetiyagoda Police.
Three persons from the same family were wounded and hospitalized following the incidents which had occurred at around 7.00am this morning (26) at a carpenter shed in Andarawewa.
The stabbings were allegedly committed by two relatives of the victims, which include a 45-year-old man, his 35-year-old sister and a 14-year-old boy.
They are currently receiving treatment at the Karapitiya Hospital. Two of them are in critical condition, according to hospital sources.
