Body of suspected murder victim found in Anuradhapura

The body of an individual, who is suspected to have been murdered, has been discovered at a byroad in the Anuradhapura Town.
The body was found by officers attached to the Anuradhapura Police Station following information received from residents in the area.
The deceased, believed to be aged between 55-60 years, has still not been identified while injuries are visible in one of his hands and in the head.
The body has been placed at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital while the postmortem examination is to be performed today (10).
Meanwhile in a separate incident a persons was shot dead in the Middeniya area.
Police said that a 39-year-old was riding a three-wheeler when he was gunned down an unidentified gunman last night.
