Pujith Jayasundara appointed new IGP

President Maithripala Sirisena today appointed Senior DIG Pujith Jayasundara as the new Inspector General of Police (IGP), the PMD reported.
Earlier, Senior DIG Jayasundara was nominated for the post of IGP by a majority of the Constitutional Council members as well.
“Congratulations to the new IGP Pujith Jayasundara, who received his letter of appointment a while ago,” President Sirisena said in a Twitter post.
