Water level in Deduru Oya rising, public alerted to be vigilant

Water level in the Deduru Oya is rising and residents in the lower river bank areas have been alerted to be vigilant, the Disaster Management Centre (DMC) announced.


Public in Bingiriya, Mahawa, Kobeigane, Nikaweratiya,Pallama, Arachikattuwa,Chilaw, Wariyapola have been alerted to be vigilant, the DMC added.


At least three persons were missing in torrential rains and flash floods lashing Sri Lanka for the last two days, prompting authorities to issue an alert, officials said today.
