The second stage of the ‘Manusath Derana’ flood relief operation, which is aimed at assisting school children affected by the recent floods and adverse weather, commenced this morning (02).
Donated books, footwear, school bags and school equipment will be dispatched from the TV Derana Head Office located at No 320, TB Jayah Mawatha, Colombo 10 to selected areas.
The second stage of the campaign was commenced on 28 May where donations were collected.
In collaboration with Manusath Derana, thousands of Sri Lankans joined hands and provided assistance to nearly half a million people affected by floods in many parts of the island.
The Manusath Derana flood relief project, which commenced the distribution of relief to flood-affected areas, has collected dry rations and other items for distribution to those in urgent need as well.
