
An eminent Indian violinist Professor V. Balaji of Varanasi University, India called on President Maithripala Sirisena at the President’s Official Residence, today (22).
Professor V. Balaji attended the State Music Awards Ceremony 2016, held yesterday as a special guest and during the ceremony, he requested to perform before the President.
Accordingly, an invitation extended to him by the President to visit the President’s Official Residence and accepting that invitation he visited the President’s Official Residence along with his wife and son, the President’s Media Division reported. Subsequent to engaging in a cordial discussion with the President, he played the violin in front of the President. Prof Balaji’s son, Ananth Raman also performed.
The Director of Department of Cultural Affairs, Anusha Gokula and several others participated in the event.
