Police Commission promotes 7 SSPs to the rank of DIG

The National Police Commission has promoted seven Senior Superintendents of Police (SSPs) to the rank of Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) with effect from today. 

Ada Derana reliably learns that former police spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana, SSP Wasantha Wickramasinghe, SSP Padmalal Sandunghawatte, SSP Priyantha Jayakody, SSP Champika Siriwardena, SSP Nimal Perera and SSP Mervyn Wickramasinghe have been promoted by the commission.
