
The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has launched an island-wide token strike from 8.00 am to 12 noon on Monday (04), over several issues including the private medical college in Malabe.
GMOA Secretary Navin De Soysa stated that the Government Dental Surgeons’ Association and the Sri Lanka Ayurveda Medical Association have also joined the strike action.
In addition to this, the Sri Lanka Public Service United Nurses’ Union and several other trade unions in the health sector have also expressed their support towards the token strike, he said.
Patients at state hospitals across the country affected due to the token strike, Ada Derana reporter said.
