Govt preparing to arrest 10 Joint Opposition MPs - Mahindananda

Former Minister Mahindananda Aluthgamage claims that the government is preparing to arrest and imprison 10 parliamentarians who are part of the “Joint Opposition” before a protest march against the government will commence on July 28. 

 

He also said that attempts are being made to sack several members of the Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) who are siding with the Joint Opposition. 

 

He stated that in fear of the protest march, dubbed “Jana Satana Pada Yatra,” the government is preparing to oppress Joint Opposition members.

 

Addressing an event held in Udugampola this morning, Aluthgamage said that their struggle cannot be halted no matter what challenges are put before them and that they would lead the fight against the government.
