Strong winds at times can be expected over the country and the surrounding sea areas, the Met. Department announced.

Deep and shallow sea areas around the island can be rough at times as the wind speed can increase up to 60-70 kmph.

Several spells of light showers will occur in the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central and North-western provinces and in the Galle and Matara districts.

Showers or thundershowers are likely at a few places in the Uva Province, particularly in afternoon.
