PM leaves for Singapore

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe has left for a 3 day official tour to Singapore on Sunday (17). 


He will be accompanied by his wife Prof. Maithri Wickramasinghe and a delegation including several ministers. During his visit to Singapore, the Prime Minister plans to meet President of Singapore Tony Tan Keng Yam and Prime Minister of Singapore Lee Hsien Loong for bilateral discussions.  


Wickramasinghe is also scheduled to deliver a speech as the Guest of Honour at the 3rd South Asian Diaspora Convention which is to be held at Raffles City Convention Centre in Singapore on July 18 and 19. This summit will bring together many honoured guests, Civil Society Leaders, Business Leaders, Academics and more than leading policy makers of 50 regions. 


Geopolicts of South Asia, Law and Business in South Asia, Diaspora and Citizenship and Captains of Industry: Catalyst for Change will be some of the topics discussed at the 3rd South Asian Diaspora Convention. 


Minister of Foreign Affairs Mangala Samaraweera, Minister of Development Strategies and International Trade Malik Samarawickrama and Deputy Minister for Justice and Buddha Sasana Sarathi Mithrapala are expected to accompany the Prime Minister during the visit.
