Jaffna inmates end hunger strike

The 18 inmates of the Jaffna prison who launched a hunger strike have ended their protest fast as of last evening, Prison Spokesman Thushara Upuldeniya said.
The fast was started by suspects arrested on drug trafficking charges who were demanding their release on bail.
Thirty-six inmates commenced the protest fast, however 18 of them had left the stir earlier, according to the Spokesmen.
