
The Kandy Chief Magistrate today issued a restraining order against four MPs of the Joint opposition not to commence its proposed protest march within the Kandy city limit tomorrow (27), Ada Derana reporter said.
The order was issued on MPs including Mahindananda Aluthgamage, Dilum Amunugama, Keheliya Rambukwella, and Lohan Ratwatte.
The court has also directed the key members of the United National Party (UNP) to hold its proposed “membership drive” after 2.00 pm. The program in the first place was scheduled to be held in the morning.
Meanwhile, the Mawanella Magistrate has also ordered a leader representing the Joint Opposition and the UNP each to appear before the court tomorrow. The order was issued following a case filed by the Mawanella police this morning.
