The Navy has arrested 19 local fishermen who engaged in illegal fishing activities using monofilament nets in the seas off Kokkuthuduwai.
Along with the suspects; four fiber glass dinghies and three monofilament nets were also taken into naval custody.
The apprehended persons and belongings were produced to Mullaitivu Fisheries Inspector for further investigations.
