
The Colombo High Court has ordered the release of former President’s Secretary Lalith Weeratunga’s confiscated passport, Ada Derana reporter said.
The passport was released on a Rs.10 million bond this morning (03).
Weeratunga was charged with illegally spending over Rs.600 million belonging to the TRC funds in a bid to purchase ‘Sil’ clothes for Buddhist devotees around the island during the last Presidential election.
Weeratunga has not pleaded guilty to the charges against him.
