Stay Order against full-face helmet ban extended

August 3, 2016   02:05 pm

The Court of Appeal today extended the stay order issued against the police circular imposing a ban on full-face helmets in the country.

The stay order was extended till November 17, 2016 by the court when two cases filed against the decision was taken up for hearing this morning.

The state counsel earlier informed the court that the government is currently in the process of introducing a high quality motorcycle helmet and therefore requested for sufficient time.

The Appeal Court  consequently postponed hearing the case and extended the stay order, Ada Derana reporter said.
