Man apprehended with 25 Kgs venison

An individual has been arrested with more than 25 kg of venison at his house in Suriyawewa area in Hambantota, Ada Derana reporter said.
According to information received by officers of the Wildlife Office in Hambantota, the person was taken into custody last evening (03).
The suspect has stated that the meat was bought for a wedding reception, an official said. He will be produced before the Hambantota Magistrate’s Court today.
The raid was headed by officer W.M.A. Gunathunga, and Wildlife guards Pubudu Prasanna, L.M.G.A Sampath, Gayan Dushyantha, Madura Prasanna and Kelum Lakmal.
