An unidentified body has been discovered after washing ashore at the Kurusapaduwa beach in Chilaw.
Acting on information received from a fisherman, Chilaw Police found the body which could not be identified at the time due to the face being severely disfigured.
The remains have been placed at the Chilaw Hospital while the cause of death has not been ascertained yet.
Chilaw Police is conducting an investigation.
