Service of Army commander Lieutenant General Crishantha De Silva has been extended by the President for1 year with effect from August 22, the Military spokesman said.


Former Chief of Staff of the Army Major General Chrishantha de Silva Was as the 21st Commander of the Sri Lanka Army (SLA) by President Maithripala Sirisena in February 2015.


An old boy of Royal College Colombo, he completed 36 years of service in the army and also served as a Commander in Chief in the volunteer force.
