PM condemns assault on Sri Lanka’s high commissioner

Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe speaking in parliament condemned the attack on Sri Lankan High Commissioner to Malaysia I Ansar at KL airport on Sunday.
The government of Malaysia has also expressed regret over the incident involving the High Commissioner of Sri Lanka to Malaysia and a group of protesters.
Five people, who were arrested for allegedly assaulting the High Commissioner, have been remanded. Selangor police chief Comm Datuk Abdul Samah Mat has said the group, aged between 25 and 56, would be remanded until Wednesday to facilitate investigations over Sunday’s incident, foreign media reported.
