Two killed in stabbing incident

Two persons have been killed following a stabbing incident that took place in the Sooriyawewa area, Police said today.
A 23-year-old youth and a 31-year-old died after being stabbed during a clash between two groups at Meegahajadura late last night (14).
The clash is believed to have been sparked by a personal dispute.
The bodies of the victims have been placed at the Sooriyawewa Hospital.
Meanwhile in a separate incident three persons were injured in a clash inside a shop at Ankumbura in Kandy.
A police officer, who had attempted to intervene and resolve the clash, was also injured and hospitalised.
Five suspects have been arrested over the clash, according to Ankumbura Police.
