The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) has been given approval to conduct investigations at the Malabe private medical college in connection with the murder of former rugby player Wasim Thajudeen.
According to Ada Derana reporter, permission was granted when the case was taken up for hearing at the Colombo Magistrate’s Court this afternoon (03).
Earlier, the CID apprised the Court that the police investigation into the murder has disclosed that the missing body parts of the former Rugby player had been allegedly taken to the South Asian Institute of Technology and Medicine (SAITM) by its Vice Chancellor and former Colombo Chief JMO Prof. Ananda Samarasekara.
An anticipatory bail application filed by Samarasekara over the case was also rejected by the Court earlier. Declaring that he has absolutely no connection to the incident and maintained that he had not committed any offense.
On September 05, the AG apprised the Court that a case will be filed against Samarasekera under the terms of the Public Property Act in connection with the murder of Thajudeen.
