Heavy traffic reported in Ja-ela

Severe traffic congestion has been reported on Negombo - Colombo road due to a protest near Ja-ela junction, Ada Derana reporter said.
The protest has been staged by a group of area residents blocking the way over the decision to dump garbage in an abandoned land near Ekala.
The motorists have been asked to use alternate roads if at all possible.
However, the Ministry of Local Government and Provincial Councils earlier said that a licence will be obtained in order to dispose garbage in Ekala instead of Meetotamulla.
The Ministry added that garbage will be dumped at the site soon after the licence is obtained.
