Traffic restricted due to Esala Perahera of Walukaramaya Temple

The Police Headquarters announced that traffic will be restricted along certain roads in Colombo due to the annual Esala Maha Perahera of the Walukarama Temple in Kollupitiya, which will parade the streets today (13).

The pageant will commence at the Walukarama Temple and travel along Walukarama Road, Galle Road, Dharmapala Mawatha and R.A. de Mel Mawatha before returning to the temple through Walukarama Road. 

The Perahera is scheduled to begin at 7.00pm today while traffic will be restricted along the aforementioned roads from 6.00pm, the police release said.

Motorists using these roads are advised to use alternate roads in order to avoid inconveniences, it said.
