Power cuts announced starting today

Power cuts lasting two and a half hours during the day and one hour during the night will be imposed from today, the Power and Energy Ministry said a short while ago. Accordingly the country will be divided into 4 zones and power cuts will be imposed.
The two and a half hours power cut during the day will be imposed between 8am and 6pm; and the night time power cut will take effect for one hour between 6pm-10pm, the Ministry said. It added that power cuts will not be imposed within the Colombo city limits and other main hospitals in the country.
