October 28, 2016   02:45 pm

Tamil Maanila Congress president G.K. Vasan on Thursday expressed grief over the fatal shooting of two Tamil students in Sri Lanka’s Northern Province on October 21.

In a statement, the former Indian minister condemned the police action and called for a fair investigation into the deaths.

The TMC leader said that the Tamil people of Sri Lanka should be assured the same rights that the Sinhala people enjoy.

The Sri Lankan government should take steps to ensure that such incidents are not repeated.
