The Government intends to maintain an anti-China policy, Joint Opposition MP Bandula Gunawardena says.
The observation was made while speaking at a press conference held in Colombo this afternoon (03).
Gunawardena pointed out that this is one of reasons why the activities of the present Government came under criticism from the Chinese envoy recently.
He also went on to say that the relevant authorities are eyeing to protect the wrongdoers in the controversial bond issue, even though the COPE report in connect to the scam has already been submitted the Parliament.
Meanwhile, former Foreign Minister Prof. G.L. Peiris while speaking at the press conference accused the Prime Minister of attempting to protect the individuals involved in the Treasury bond scam. “Instead, he is trying to take action against the person who disclosed this in the first place,” he said.
