Derailment in Balapitiya disrupts train services on coastal line

A train has derailed in the Balapitiya area resulting in the disruption of train services between Ambalangoda and Balapitiya.
A fuel train had derailed while train services along the coastal line have been restricted up to Aluthgama from Colombo and up to Ambalangoda from Matara.
However, a special bus service has been arraigned to transport commuters, Sri Lanka Railway said.
UPDATE: The department of railways announced that train services along the coastal railway line have been restored.
