Railway trade unions call off strike

The railway trade unions have decided not to take part in the scheduled strike from midnight today following discussions with the President.
However, the private bus unions say they will resort to an islandwide strike from midnight 01 December.
The strike will be staged against the budget proposal to increase traffic fines, General Secretary of the All Island Private Bus Owners Association Anjana Priyanjith said.
