
The Working Committee of the United National Party (UNP) has passed two proposals as it was convened at the party’s headquarters. The UNP announced this in a statement issued on Thursday.
Accordingly, a proposal has been passed to extend the fullest support to the National Government in order to strengthen Sri Lanka’s economy and to increase people’s knowledge by supporting the facts including implementing the Right to Information Act, establishing Independent Commissions, forming parliamentary monitoring committees and etc.
The other proposal has also suggested to grant the consent of the Working Committee to the draft Constitution and to provide utmost support for the devolution of power under a unitary state.
