Thawheed Jamath secretary granted bail under strict conditions

The Secretary of the Sri Lanka Thawheed Jamath (SLTJ) organization, Abdul Razik, who was arrested on charges of inciting religious disharmony, has been released on bail under strict conditions.

 

He was ordered released on a cash bail of Rs 10,000 and two personal bails of Rs 1 million by the Colombo Magistrate’s Court. 

 

The Magistrate also warned the SLTJ Secretary that he would be remanded for the continuation of the court case if he makes any statement that would incite religious disharmony.

 

Police arrested Razik on November 16 on the charge of making remarks against other religions in an offensive manner at a protest campaign held in Maligawatte on 3 November.
