The Government has turned a blind eye to the 14 proposals of the Joint Opposition with respect of the proposed new Constitution, the JO asserted on Wednesday.
The observation was made by MP Dinesh Gunawardena while speaking at a press conference held in Colombo.
“We haven’t received a response from the Government yet,” he said adding that this situation occurred in the backdrop of the President, the Prime Minister and the Opposition Leader have been apprised of the proposals few weeks ago.
“The JO would not extend its support to the new Constitution if the Government won’t consider our recommendations,” he said.
