The Delimitation Committee needs few more days to submit its final draft, its Chairman Asoka Peiris told Ada Derana.
Peiris went on to say the Committee needs more time since draft’s Tamil transcript of several districts has not yet been reviewed.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s Officer has announced that the Committee could submit its final draft to the Prime Minister during an upcoming Parliamentary session. The Committee had earlier asked for a date from the Prime Minister to hand over its report.
As all the other party leaders are also keen to discuss with the Committee regarding this report, the Premier has informed the Committee that he would allocate a day to hand over the draft during an upcoming Parliamentary session so that the other party leaders also can participate, the Government announced today.
