A navy lieutenant commander has been arrested after his vehicle had accidentally knocked down a traffic cop in Habarana last night, police said.
The accident occurred on Polonnaruwa - Habarana road at around 7.30 pm.
The police officer is receiving treatments at the Dambulla hospital.
The lieutenant commander will be produced before the Kekirawa Magistrate today.
