Convener of the Inter-University Student Federation (IUSF) Lahiru Weerasekara has been remanded until 9 February by the Fort Magistrate’s Court on Thursday.


Weerasekara was arrested last night on the allegation of violating his bail conditions. According to the bail conditions, Weerasekara has been barred from participating in protests, Ada Derana reporter said .


However, the police have informed the Court that the suspect has violated his bail conditions since he attended a protest organized by the IUSF in Fort.
