
The term of the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (CoI) investigating into large scale corruption and fraud has been extended by six months, the Presidential Secretariat Office announced today.
The special commission was appointed by President Maithripala Sirisena to investigate and inquire into serious acts of fraud, corruption and abuse of power, state resources and privileges (PRECIFAC) in 2015.
Retired SLAS (Special Grade) officer H.W. Gunadasa is the Secretary to the commission who was appointed to the post in March, 2016.
