Woman offers a helping hand - only to be sexually assaulted

A 42-year-old woman residing in the Dankotuwa area, had been sexually assaulted by two individuals who had sought her assistance to pick coconuts, police stated.

 

The victim has been admitted to the Dankotuwa Base hospital and is receiving treatment for her injuries. 

 

Police added that the suspects involved in the assault, are individuals known by the victim. 

 

Police have identified the suspects involved, however have not been able to arrest them as of yet and further investigations have gotten underway.
