
The Monetary Board of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka has decided to replace the members of the tender board which conducts government bond auctions, CBSL Deputy Governor P. Samarasiri said.
Testifying before the presidential commission of inquiry to investigate and inquire into the issuance of treasury bonds on Wednesday (29), he stated that the tender board members have been removed pending the report of the commission.
He stated that the decision was taken by the Monetary Board on March 20.
The commission f inquiry commenced hearings at 10.00am this morning while former Governor of the Central Bank Arjuna Mahendran was also present today, as per the approval of the commission.
