Dr. Prathiba discusses loopholes in the system on Cyber security

A Senior lecturer of Law at the Colombo University, Dr. Prathiba Mahanamahewa stated that there are major loopholes in present legislature with respect to deterring cyber crimes. 

He added that although the law tackling cyber crimes was put in place 10 years ago, in 2007 – no case has been presented to the court since, although many complaints have been made. 

The sentiments were brought put during a press conference held at the Sri Lanka Foundation.
