Fire destroys hostel in Hambantota, no casualties

A hostel in which Chinese nationals were staying was completely destroyed following a fire in Hambantota, police said.
The fire had reportedly erupted in the wee hours of this morning. The blaze has been brought under control as of now with the assistance from firefighters, police and the residents of the area.
The hostel is located in Thihagoda and the Chinese nationals are those who engaged in the Southern Expressway development project, it was reported.
No casualties were reported in the incident.
