New Jaffna security chief meets Vigneswaran

A meeting was held between the Commander of the Security Force Headquarters - Jaffna (SFHQ-J), Major-General Darshana Hettiarachchi and the Chief Minister of the Northern Province, C.V. Vigneswaran at the latter’s office in Jaffna.
The issues of civilians’ lands being occupied by the security forces was brought to light, and the question of resettling displaced people in Jaffna was also discussed.
This marks the first time Major-General Hettiarachchi met the Chief Minister of the Northern Province after assuming office as the Commander of the SFHQ-J.
Major-General Darshana Hettiarachchi assumed office as the Commander of the SFHQ-J after the preceding Commander, Major-General Mahesh Senanayake was transferred to the Army Headquarters.
According to reports, the Commander and the Chief Minister also discussed future plans to strengthen security in the area.
