Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe will call on Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc today.
PM Wickremesinghe accompanied by Mrs. Wickremeisnghe were received by the Chief Brand Officer of the Vietnam Foreign Affairs Ministry Mai Phuoc Dung, Assistant Minister of the Foreign Affairs Ministry Pham Sanh Chau, Deputy Director General of South, South-West Asia and South Pacific Department Nguyen Le Thanh, Sri Lankan Ambassador in Vietnam Hasanthi Dissanayake, and the Vietnamese Ambassador to Sri Lanka Madam Phan Kieu Thu yesterday.
PM Wickremesinghe is scheduled to meet and discuss with the Vietnamese President, Prime Minister and other high ranking officials.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister’s Office sources said that PM Wickremesinghe is expected to cut short his official visit, which was to end on 19th April and return to Sri Lanka due to the Meethotamulla tragedy, the Government Information Department said.
