
The court has ruled to lift the overseas travel ban imposed on former MP Sajin de Vass Gunawardena.
The ruling was made by Colombo Additional Magistrate Aruni Artigala at the trial hearing today (03), Ada Derana reporters stated.
The case was filed against Sajin Vass for causing the government to incur a loss of Rs. 883 million during his tenure as Chief Executive Officer of Mihin Lanka airlines.
The former MP was charged with entering into an illegal contract worth Rs. 880 million with a Singaporean Company by violating tender procedures, and purchasing equipment from said company.
The case was filed by the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption.
