President Maithripala Sirisena has summoned all Cabinet Ministers, Deputy Ministers and State Ministers to the Presidential Secretariat on Monday (22), government sources told Ada Derana.
The ministers have reportedly been instructed to arrive at the Presidential Secretariat at 8.00am on Monday. Internal sources say that this could most likely be a cabinet reshuffle.
Speculation has been rife for months over a possible cabinet reshuffle while the two major parties in the unity government – the SLFP and the UNP, had hinted that this is expected to take place very soon.
UPFA General Secretary and Minister Mahinda Amaraweera recently stated that a Cabinet reshuffle is a must and that it will be done by President Maithripala Sirisena in consultation with Prime Minister Ranil Wickremesinghe.
