French naval ships leave from Colombo harbour

The two French Naval Ships, Mistral and Courbet which arrived in Sri Lanka on a goodwill visit on 20th June, left from the Colombo harbour today (June, 26) on completion of a successful tour. 


Sri Lanka Navy bade customary farewell to the departing French Naval Ships in accordance with naval traditions.


During their stay in Sri Lanka, the French ships crew took part in several programmes organized by the SLN. Accordingly, they conducted a few training exercises in collaboration with SLN Marines and Navy divers. Apart from that, the French naval personnel also competed in some friendly sporting events with their Sri Lankan counterparts at the Welisara Navy ground.
