
The Ministry of Health has made the decision to implement a new course of action to avoid anomalies among the nursing service in the Wayamba Province.
Minister of Health, Nutrition and Indigenous Medicine, Dr. Rajitha Senaratne issued instructions to divert nurses in excess in the Kurunegala District to hospitals in the Puttalam District.
Several nurses receiving new appointments are also due to be allocated to hospitals in the Puttalam District.
The Ministry stated that the decisions were taken during a discussion which was held to address the development of hospitals in the Wayamba Province and Mannar District.
The meeting was held yesterday (28) at the Ministry premises.
Additionally, new appointments of doctors will also be made to fulfil the shortage of doctors in hospitals.
Furthermore, Minister Senaratne had also agreed to solve the issue pertaining to quarters in the Puttalam Base Hospital and build a new complex of operating theatres.
