Goal to house all families of fallen soldiers before term - Premadasa

Minister of Housing and Development, Sajith Premadasa stated that steps will be taken to re-home the 3650 families of fallen soldiers before President Sirisena’s time in office commences.

The statements were brought out during a ceremony held to lay the foundation blocks of the ‘Ranaviru Weerodara Gammanaya’ in Anamaduwa.

This being the 423 project of its kind, will consist of 34 houses on its scheme. 34 under privileged, homeless families will receive 15 perches of land each.

Along with these benefits, 58 individuals without landed were given their own, while 120 benefited through Samurdhi beneficiaries along with 150 young people being given the opportunity to develop new skills which included the donation of gear worth Rs. 46000.

Premadasa added that the government will reach the 500 ‘Uda Gamana’ target by the end of the year, while a total of 2500 will be completed before the next presidential election.
